MIRA is a non-government and not-for-profit development organization. Based on Research, advocacy and Policy dialogue, Human Resource Development including Skills development, Human Rights, Health and Education; was established in 2000 and initially was registered in social welfare act and later on in Societies Act in 2014 with the purpose of helping to empower vulnerable groups in Pakistan including women, children/youth, minorities, disabled persons and the elderly. Its work will focus on research, policy development, human rights advocacy, institutional and community capacity building/development, and fund-raising to alleviate poverty and promote education of children and young adults in rural areas and marginalized communities. Its Board of Directors and its Management Team have a wealth of experience in rural development, research, advocacy and human rights in Pakistan, including preparation of survey data to identify needs of underprivileged vulnerable communities, policy briefs, and community based developmental projects, where the human rights of vulnerable persons are affected. MIRA will engage with law makers and local provincial and national government agencies as part of its human rights advocacy campaign to promote the welfare of vulnerable and underprivileged population.
